This is the third time this rainy season the road has flooded to this degree. A local trader who operates a provisions store near the junction said she lost goods worth tens of thousands of naira as water entered her shop. Residents are blaming a blocked drainage channel that they say has not been cleared in months despite repeated complaints to the local government.
