The Surulere Local Government has commissioned a newly built primary health centre on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, which officials say will serve a catchment population of over 20,000 residents in the surrounding neighbourhoods. The facility includes a maternal and child health unit, an immunisation room, a general outpatient clinic, and a small pharmacy. The commissioning ceremony held on Friday was attended by the LGA chairman, community leaders, and representatives from the Lagos State Ministry of Health. The LGA chairman noted that the facility is fully equipped and will be staffed by trained community health extension workers as well as rotating medical officers from the state health system. Residents who spoke at the event expressed relief, saying many had previously been forced to travel long distances to access basic health services.
